Why different age men appeal to different women

Age differences

I think that everything I say will be stereotyped, but it is a place to start the discussion. For this discussion I will use a woman at the age of 40. I know we can all expand on this, but it will do for now.

For women who seek older men, perhaps in their fifties or sixties, why do they do that? We can all assume love and happiness is the main ingredient, but let us just focus on other needs and motives for now. Perhaps it is security, maturity, or the ability to stop pushing a career--maybe even travel. Please add your thoughts.

Most women are more comfortable with men their own age. Perhaps this is shared goals and ambitions, or common interest. This one doe snot need a lot of discussion, but feel free to if you want.

Some women want younger men. There could be many reasons such as excitement, a recapture of a youth lost, someone that can keep up with an active woman, or the attraction of not having baggage of a previous relationship. Since I am writing a cougar series, I really want to hear form everyone what they think is the real motivation behind such.

This is not a place to offer judgment, but a place to discuss what it is that leads to the attraction for seeking a guy in a certain age group. I look forward to seeing what everyone has to say.

I thought you might like a short excerpt made of the general audience. This was a challenge since this is a very sexy read. But, I think you might like this part where they first arrive in South Beach

“Okay—Sorry.” She felt his powerful arms wrap her in the protective mannerism he had demonstrated since the day they met. While being controlled by her to some extent, she understood he also enjoyed his freedom at times.

“You know two can play at this game.” She nodded at two guys on the beach who wore European-style swim trunks. While she thought they must be gay and no fun for her, she studied the effects of years of bodybuilding, the eye candy, so to speak, of what she looked forward to seeing.

Since he offered a shitty face of distrust, she smiled and grabbed his hand.

“Okay, don’t worry. We’re here to have some fun—right?”

Holding hands like lovers on a first date, they strolled along the shoreline, exploring the northern part of the beach. Groups of different nationalities clustered together. Some played various beach games to occupy the time, flashing the latest colored awareness bracelets supporting their latest eco-chic diversion. The scene constantly changed, inviting new experiences every few minutes.

Passing one large umbrella and several small cabana style tents, she noticed the first topless girls on the beach. At first she couldn’t believe it, but she had heard nudity was allowed in moderation. What moderation? These girls pranced in front of them offering the whole damn beach a direct view at their rather large breasts.

Bali turned to see Adam’s reaction. She knew his focus had locked in on the attraction. His face looked almost comical as he appeared to hide in a sheepish smile. But could she really blame him? She increased the pace, pulling him with her. Still, she glanced out of the corner of her eye at the girls. Were they simply friends, or were they lovers? A strange tingling sensation ravaged her body. Would she ever experience such a relationship with another woman?

I have been doing some work to my site, adding some pages, and preparing it for a more active role. What I am thinking of doing is having different days for people to do shout outs. On Mondays, for example, any author can come and shout out their book that came out the last week, or is coming out this week. I have to have some rules on size, etc. but will keep it open to help my fellow writers.

READER EXPECTATION ON PACE

ESTABLISHING THE INITIAL PACE IN A NOVEL
I know everyone will have a different take on this, but it is true that many readers want different things from the get-go. Some want to learn who the characters are and to have a reason to pull for them before they are subjected to life’s trials. Other readers want to jump into the action and learn the background in steps when it is absolutely necessary.

Giving technical background information is helpful to some readers and loses others. Not adding the enticing details robs some readers of their enjoyment and feeling that they can step into another world. It is the perfect balance which wins the most readers.

I’ve heard many writers say that if you only read the entire book you will see why I did certain things as I did. If you have a loyal reader base—this will happen. If not, the reader will scan kindle for another date to spend time with.
So, with this as an introduction—what are your expectation as far as pace is concerned in a great book?

What readers expect Series

 Who exactly are the readers?

       I think the first question to ask is who the readers are that the writer is targeting, or, in reality, is buying the books. For those that write romances and especially sexy or erotica the people buying may surprise many people. For some people the F word is a big turnoff and to others it is the reason they buy. In my case I try to write true life and what is real in the world and if it the word fits to portray the characters it is used. Therefore, if the word Fuck offends you this may not be the site you will like. For many writers a pen name is used to distinguish the different genre written which I think is a great idea. 

       To build a list of what readers expect I think it is only appropriate to determine who the readers are first.  So, while I hope to hear some great comments on this, please be thinking of what will be the top ten expectations of readers as we get more into the series. 

       The following article is a good way to enter this discussion.  For authors with a following, please let me know what you think. For readers, please share your feeling also. Why do you read a good sexy romantic novel?

Who are the Readers for Erotic eBooks?

There are many people who enjoy reading romance novels. Many surveys were taken regarding the audience of romance novels, and the results showed that approximately 65% of readers of romance and love stories were females. This survey also showed that because girls and females are considered more emotional as compared to men, they tend to like romantic stories. This can also be displayed with a simple example: girls are generally not very fond of action movies; rather, they tend to prefer soothing and calm movies, such as romance ones. Girls also prefer family movies in which no action or violence is involved.

However, that is not to say that men don't like romantic love stories too! The difference is that men tend to enjoy a romance novel only when it has some erotic essence in it. The male gender is generally considered more aggressive than the opposite sex, and therefore a simple emotional novel may make them feel bored. Erotic eBooks offer the thrill of the dangerous, providing cover for liking the romantic pieces.

Since books used to only be available as paper-back and hard-back books, people in previous days used to tote a bag full of books with them while traveling distances. But now this dynamic has been changed, and now a large portion of people prefer reading Romance Books Online rather than buying a hard copy. To make tasks even easier, they either use electronic text book readers like the Kindle, which are capable of downloading any type of e-book, or they may carry their laptops/notebooks with them which may have gigantic storage areas to store hundreds of thousands of ebooks. Another advantage of carrying laptops or notebooks is that readers can also install text aloud software applications in them. These applications are quite lightweight and handy to use. The main feature of these software applications is that they can store the entire text in their buffers and can read the same aloud so that the user can hear the entire story instead of reading it. This saves a lot of time for the user and also enables him/her to enjoy romantic stories, even when there is no source of light. In fact, many people find Romance Novels more enjoyable when they hear them with closed eyes and without lights.
